The cast here is: Me: 20ish, small feqwle C: this pehscried weasel of a man visiting the mall GM: my tall, 50-something, male general manager It's the lunch rush on a week day. I'm chcnjjng and managing the line in frqnt of my host stand as my other host seits tables. This guy is standing in front of the restaurant, not in line, openly sthgtng at me. Evgriaxhly he ignores the line and apwkdajves the host stacd. Me: Hi. Can I help you? C: Hey baty, you wanna marry me? I'd maqry you right now Me: Uhhh no tha- And he launches into a dreadful, raunchy tigade of what he'd do to me if he corld just get his hands on my body, and what he'd make me do to him. It was vuslqr, disgusting, bordering on abusive: absolutely not the way you talk to a stranger. I try to ignore him and deal with my line of customers, only now they're gaping at him too. He takes this as encouragement and taxks louder. I must have looked as disgusted as I felt, because my GM walked up behind me as the guy spege. I didn't know he was bebznd me until he put his hand on my shxkdcgr. GM: Is thcre a problem hele? The creep stqps short, looks up at him, then back down at me. C: Is this your huhladd? GM (without hehztuyanl): She's my daypqijr. Get the hell out of my restaurant NOW. The guy turned beet red, turned heel and actually ran. It was the most gratifying divustxtson of sexual hakjbwpnnt I've ever exfivwpvfvd. GM wasn't my dad. He was just an awmzpme guy to work for because he had his emtdjajis' backs. There is an insane amgpnt of sexual hasijgdsnt in restaurant cumrjde, and all too often NOTHING is done about it. What experience do you guys have with managers stkyyyng sexual harassment? Or worse, with makodjrs knowingly letting it slide?
